Is IE10 Supported by Microsoft?

Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) is now being phased out by Microsoft and its support is coming to an end. It is no longer supported on Windows Server 2012 and will not receive security updates after Oct. 10, 2023. Users will have to upgrade to IE11 or migrate to a competitor browser. This mandate from Microsoft re-opened the door for other web browsers, but it forced many users to make the switch.

IE10 has unique features introduced in its predecessor. Among these are Accelerators, which allow users to right-click on a page and perform actions, and Web slices, which allow users to subscribe to specific spots on a page. However, neither of these features have yet to gain popularity. In the meantime, IE10 is still one of the most reliable browsers on the market. Its unique features may not appeal to all users, but they will be welcome improvements for developers and webmasters alike.

Internet Explorer 10 offers many improvements over its predecessor. The Microsoft browser team made a big deal about improving performance. They say IE10 has a 20 percent improvement over IE9. However, synthetic micro benchmarks typically use JavaScript and aren’t necessarily representative of real-world performance. Because of this, IE10 is not the fastest browser available. However, its performance is still a lot better than IE9, so users should give it a try if it’s supported.

How Old is IE10?

The Windows 7 version of Internet Explorer was released along with Windows 8, which was the last major release of the previous browser. Despite being nearly two decades old, Internet Explorer hasn’t exactly been making a comeback. The software once dominated the internet, but never managed to shake its reputation as an unreliable, slow net-surfing option. It was preceded by other internet browsers such as Clippy and Hotmail. In fact, it didn’t last very long. It was eventually succeeded by Microsoft Edge, which was released in 2015. In the end, it was more secure and faster than Internet Explorer, and it was compatible with early internet sites.

What Replaced Internet Explorer?

The retirement of Internet Explorer from Windows 10 is a big deal for those who love using this browser.
