The next step is to use the Apple TV app to find an authorized computer. When you locate a computer, tap the Authorize This Computer button. Afterwards, it will redirect you to the Account Information tab.

While the Apple TV app is not compatible with Windows or Linux, it will work with macOS.

How Do I Grant an App Permission?

MacOS Mojave has a new tool that helps you control how apps access your system. This panel includes toggles for the built-in FaceTime camera and microphone, but also allows you to review your app permissions.

Third-party macOS apps may require access to different files and services. These include contacts, calendars, camera, and location services. In order to grant access, the app must be explicitly approved by the user. If you change your mind, you can re-grant the permission by going to Settings.

Apps can collect data on your personal habits and preferences, but you have the right to prevent this from happening. To learn more, read Apple’s App Privacy policies. It includes what types of data are collected and how they are used.

Before granting an app permission on your Mac, it is important to review the app’s privacy policies. You should be careful which apps you grant permission to, and only give full disk access to trusted developers.

For example, you may want to authorize an app on your Mac to use your location. This is a feature which is only accessible while on-screen, but you can enable it to be available at all times. Similarly, you might want to authorize an app on your Mac to make video calls. If you do, you can specify a time limit.

For example, a school might need the permissions to make a document available. Or a game may need access to Photos and Mail.

However, you should be careful about which applications you grant access to. Some apps can be malicious, collecting personal data and modifying your Mac.
