Many businesses have legacy applications that need to be redeveloped in order to run on a cloud environment. These programs were originally designed to run on a specific operating system and physical hardware configuration, and they are unable to take advantage of the elasticity and development flexibility that cloud-hosted environments can provide. By contrast, CloudReady applications have a lower initial investment and can be scaled as needed as business needs change.
Is CloudReady Any Good?

Despite the cloudy name, CloudReady is a distribution of Google’s Chromium OS. It’s a free distribution of Chromium OS, and is not a commercialized version of Chrome OS. However, it does have some drawbacks that make it worth considering. It isn’t a “real” operating system, so it’s difficult to judge how it will perform under different circumstances.
CloudReady can run on any hardware, including older laptops, which means it’s ideal for enterprise use.
